The only thing I seem to be consistent at is breaking even. In all honesty I have a couple problems with my game.

1. Inability to play well with any type of consistency. This morning I played about 600 hands, played really well and won about 4 buyins then later that night I played about 800 hands and lost it all back stacking off with things like tptk or AA in a 5 way pot when its clear someone has me beat.

2. Trying to play too many tables. My edge is close to nothing when I’m playing more than 6 tables and I really need to stop trying to take shortcuts to get more hands in and just stick to 6 tables or less.

3. Too aggressive. Lately I’ve been finding if I’m not the one driving the betting in a hand then I’m not in the hand. At 100NL its hard to induce bluffs or induce someone else to bet because they play so weak passive but I really need to learn how to click the call and check button more.

That being said to all of you who thought I was going to burn out you’re pretty much right. I’m going to revise my challenge to 10k hands a week. 15k is just too much for me right now. I recently read an article about Paul Wasicka (sorry if I spelled wrong) but he got 2nd in the Main Event this year and he said he played 3000-7000 hands a day for 2 years every day. That is just sick to me I have no idea how people do that. Today I’m going to mess around and play some limit or MTTs or something. 10k hands of breakeven=frustrating. Thank god(and Triptanes) for rakeback at least.

Didn’t play too much today just one short session mostly 6-8 tabling. 8tables is definitely challenging for me – the most annoying part is opening up new tables when it gets to be 3 or 4 handed. I need to get a script for that, I already have one for reloading which is very helpful. For a very addictive song I’ve been replaying nonstop check out T.I. – Top Back. Here’s the totals – they are a bit deceiving because I played some 200NL after I posted yesterday and what a surprise I lost about $160 so I’ll just lump that loss into today which was actually a winner day. I’ll be putting in a solid 2500+ hands tomorrow hopefully.

There is no other way to describe my play today. I took some sick beats and pretty much just went into complete spewage mode raising lots of pots and cbetting almost all of them. If I am going to build a roll consistently I really need to learn to stop playing after someone gets under my skin. Here’s some hands on tilt, they are just ugly and there’s no excuse for me play here:

tilt starter hand – I def should have just shoved turn and probably even called river as played

got slowrolled on his call here – villain was raising my blind liberally and I got the great idea of felting 22

Played really well today – I can’t remember if it was 3 or 4 sessions each about ~1-1.5 hours in time. I find I’m getting really bored when not playing however I need to find another hobby besides poker and tv/movies because that’s really all I spend my time doing all day. Anyone got any good book recommendations? Nonpoker related please. If you want to check out a cool show tonight watch “Flip this house” on A&E @ 7pm and 8pm Sundays. Its pretty cool – about real estate investors flipping properties for +$10k+ in like 14 days. Anyways here’s the totals for the day.

Well I played pretty poorly today. Tilted for a little bit and made one REALLY bad call for a buyin. Luckily right after that I quit and took a break. I’m noticing that I have a few leaks in my game, but once I get them fixed I feel I should really be able to crush these tables. I also tried a little 7-tabling and I really may start 8-tabling soon. Despite what I believe was poor play for the day I did manage a profit. Here’s my totals for the day

Hands played: 2557
Profit: +$147
Roll: $2486

I have decided to start a challenge for myself. I am going to challenge myself to play at least 15 thousand hands per week for the rest of August. My 40 hour a week job ended Friday so I have a ton of time on my hands before I move up to school around September 1st. My goal is to earn approximately $6000 in the 20 days I have to devote to poker. I will be making daily updates on my progress and will post my pokertracker stats at the end of every Friday. Friday will also be payday for me in which I will withdraw $500 to make sure I’m earning some $$ while I progress. This is more than I earned working at my job so we’ll see how it goes. Wish me luck!

My current role: $2339
My current location: 6-tabling 100NL 6max at party
